Web Summit Qatar returns to Doha from 31 January to 3 February 2027 for its fourth edition. In a few years it has become one of the largest technology events Qatar hosts: the 2026 edition brought more than 30,000 attendees from 124 countries to the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, according to the Government Communications Office.
This guide brings together what you need to plan a visit: when and where the summit takes place, how tickets and applications work, how to get to the venue, and the practical details that make four days in Doha easier. Everything here comes from the organisers' published information as of October 2026. Details can change, so confirm anything important on the official Web Summit Qatar website before you book.
When is Web Summit Qatar 2027?
The summit runs from Sunday 31 January to Wednesday 3 February 2027. The official programme opens with registration and an opening night, followed by three full conference days, with an evening programme called Night Summit alongside them.
In Qatar the working week runs from Sunday to Thursday, so every day of the summit is a working day. That matters if you are coordinating with local teams, government entities or suppliers, who will be at their desks while you are at the venue.
If you are travelling from abroad, plan to arrive at least a day early. It gives you time to rest after the flight and find your way around before the programme begins, rather than going straight from the airport into a full schedule.
Where is Web Summit Qatar held?
Web Summit Qatar 2027 takes place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) in West Bay, the city's central business district. It is the same venue that hosted the 2026 edition.
Getting to the venue
The simplest way to reach DECC is the Doha Metro. DECC station on the Red Line sits next to the venue, and the Red Line also serves Hamad International Airport.
Taxis and ride-hailing apps are widely used in Doha. Expect heavy traffic around West Bay at the start and end of each day, when thousands of people arrive and leave at the same time. If you have meetings elsewhere in the city, allow more time than a map suggests.
Where to stay
West Bay has many hotels within a short ride of DECC, and the organisers list partner hotels on the official website. Rooms close to the venue fill early during summit week, so book as soon as your attendance is confirmed. If you stay further from West Bay, choose a hotel near a Red Line station to cut your travel time.
Who attends Web Summit Qatar?
The summit brings together founders, investors, global technology companies, government entities and media. According to the Government Communications Office, the 2026 edition welcomed:
- More than 30,000 attendees from 124 countries
- More than 1,600 startups, over 190 of them from Qatar
- More than 800 investors
- More than 400 speakers
- More than 600 members of the media
- More than 180 partners
Women founded 47% of the startups taking part. Figures for 2027 will be published by the organisers nearer the time.
For companies and professionals in Qatar, those numbers make the summit one of the few chances to meet international investors and technology companies without leaving the country, so it is worth preparing for as seriously as visitors from abroad do.
How do Web Summit Qatar tickets work?
There are four main routes in, depending on who you are.
Attendee tickets
Most visitors buy a general attendee ticket. The official ticket page also lists VIP and Chairperson tiers with extra access, and group offers for teams. These tickets include access to the Night Summit evening programme and invitations to curated meetups.
Early tickets have been offered at a discount, and prices usually rise as the summit gets closer, so buying early costs less. Check current prices on the official tickets page.
Startups
Startups take part through the startup programme rather than a standard ticket. According to the official startup page, the process starts with a conversation with Web Summit's specialist team, followed by assessment and selection, and then preparation with its startup success team.
Your startup profile deserves real care. Web Summit uses it for your exhibition board and in the official app, and investors use it to decide which startups they want to meet. Startups can also apply for PITCH, the summit's startup competition.
Investors
Investors apply separately. The standard investor ticket is free for those who are accepted and includes startup discovery tools, access to the investor meeting area and investor masterclasses. A paid Platinum Investor ticket adds invite-only side events and a dedicated lounge. Applications are made on the investor page.
Partners and exhibitors
Companies that want a stand, a speaking opportunity or a branded presence work with the partnership team instead of buying tickets. Applications open on the official partner page. If that is your plan, our guide to exhibiting at Web Summit Qatar sets out the preparation week by week.
How to prepare for your visit
Set three goals before you go
With hundreds of sessions and tens of thousands of people, it is easy to spend four busy days and come away with very little. Decide in advance what a good summit looks like for you: the people you want to meet, the sessions you will not miss, and what you want to leave with, whether that is investor conversations, partners, candidates to hire or a clearer view of the market in Qatar.
Start using the app early
Download the official Web Summit Qatar app as soon as it is available. It holds the schedule, and it is where attendees connect and arrange to meet. The people you most want to see are also the busiest, so request meetings in the weeks before the summit, not on the day.
Plan your days around the venue
DECC is large, and moving between stages, the exhibition and meeting areas takes longer than you expect. Leave gaps between meetings, keep your phone charged (a power bank helps), and agree a fixed meeting point with your team.
What to wear
Smart casual is the norm at technology events in Doha. Outside the venue, Qatar expects modest dress in public places, with shoulders and knees covered, so pack with that in mind.
Early February is one of the most pleasant times of year in Qatar, with mild days and cooler evenings. Bring a light layer for evening events held outdoors. Our guide to the best time to hold an event in Qatar explains how the seasons shape the country's events calendar.
Language and business etiquette
English is the working language of the summit, and you can do business in English across Doha. Arabic is the official language, and a greeting or a few words in Arabic are always appreciated, especially with government entities and local companies. If you are targeting Qatari organisations, have your company material ready in both languages; our guide to planning a bilingual event in Qatar explains why it matters.
Check entry requirements
Entry rules for Qatar depend on your passport. Many nationalities can enter without arranging a visa in advance, but check the official requirements for yours before you book flights.
Side events and Night Summit
The conference is only part of the week. Web Summit runs its own evening programme, Night Summit, at venues around Doha, and attendee tickets include access to it.
Around the official programme, companies, embassies and investors host their own breakfasts, receptions and dinners in West Bay and across the city's hotels. Many are by invitation only and fill up weeks ahead, so ask your network early which ones are worth your time.
If you plan to host a side event of your own, book the venue now. Function rooms near West Bay are in high demand during summit week, and the best slots go first.
If you are exhibiting, speaking or hosting
Visiting the summit is one thing. Taking a stand, a speaking slot or a side event is a project with its own deadlines, suppliers and people to manage.
